The iconic Warwick Water Tower, the inspiration for WarwickPost.com’s logo, long the subject of speculation due to the need to remove it from its location at the center of the path of a new road, was going down.
I shot this video on an iPhone 5s for the interviews and a tripod-mounted Nikon D-7100 for the street and attaching a telephoto lens for closeups of the tower demolition.
I spent the day at the site, waiting most of the morning for the demolition to begin. The person in the background asking if the tower is being demolished was one of several that day who paused their cars on the street to ask about the work. His query was timed for a perfectly punctuated pull-down.
